Global
Broadcast to Reach 100s of Millions:
Children Worldwide to Send a Leaf to the Tree of Life at
the World Summit
**Urgent Support Needed for Tree of Life **
(Global Release)
A half-hour TV special ONE CHILD-ONE VOICE will be sent
via satellite for all broadcasters worldwide for free from
May 29 to June 7, 2002. Children from all countries will
be seeing a free public service broadcast that supports
the World Summit.
This TV special will
allow the voices of the children to be heard at the United
Nation’s World Summit on Sustainable Development to
be held Aug 26-Sept. 4 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
A Preparatory Meeting
going on now in Bali ends on June 7, 2002. The final results
of this Conference will decide the outcome of the World
Summit this September 2002.
UN Secretary-General
Kofi Annan has called for the people of the world to, “become
engaged, get involved, pressure your government and policy-makers
to steer things in the right direction.” ONE CHILD-ONE
VOICE can inspire TV viewers around the globe to provide
that voice and grassroots support.
In 1992, viewers from
all over the world drew leaves on postcards and sent them
to the Tree of Life, demonstrating their support for the
Earth Summit. Together, we can create a Tree of Life for
the Summit in Johannesburg. The program is a compelling
call by five children from around the world to restore and
protect our planet.
Barbara Pyle, Executive
Producer says, “ONE CHILD-ONE VOICE is more than a
TV program- it is a global event! No one should miss!”
With your support, the Tree of Life can inspire children
worldwide to steer things in the right direction.”
ONE CHILD-ONE VOICE
enters the vivid world of a surrealistic fairground. Through
a kaleidoscope of visual metaphors, the program illustrates
environmental change spanning water pollution, desertification,
air pollution, climate change, and biodiversity.
